SOLD - Vintage 3 drawer dresser refreshed and restored...

Picked this piece up last week. Loved the shape and style.

She was neglected and in fairly rough shape.

Needed a little TLC... repaired the drawers and sliders and refinished the top.

Went for a classic look using Old White and a little dark wax.

Circa 1910 3 drawer dresser

This summer, my husband and I were on our way to the store, to deliver a van jammed full of furniture when we saw this piece for free on the side of the road.  We knew if we came back later it would probably be gone.  We were able to get the three drawers crammed into the front seat, so my husband ran those home while I stayed and guarded the dresser. When he returned, we parked the van, and he carried this piece home on his back while I tried to balance it... for several blocks.  I am sure we looked a little crazy!  My hubby walked a little funny for a few days after that! Lol!  It was a fair bit of work to repair and clean up, although I don't know that the pictures show that very well. The bottoms of all the drawers needed to be replaced, the whole body was coming apart so it needed to be re-glued and all the drawer slides were worn down (after 110 years of opening and closing) so we took them out and flipped them over. I painted the body in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint 'Old Ochre' and the drawers in this lovely Annie Sloan  'Emile'. It looks to be about circa 1900. Really love how it looks in my entrance way!  Hmmm...you can't keep everything right?
