Picked up this piece recently at our local thrift shop. It is a brand new kitchen cart that never made it to the showroom floor. There was a microscopic flaw on the top that had been circled in pencil. I took it home and distressed it even more. :)
I painted it in Provence and finished with a dark wax.
After distressing the top, I stained it and applied two thin coats of shellac before finishing it with a coat of clear wax. I like using the wax over top of the shellac as it gives it a softer finish.
Changed out the wheels for some vintage ones...
Added a vintage handle...giving a little added character. I think this kitchen cart would add a nice pop of colour in a kitchen. Although... you could use it in the bathroom...
This looks amazing! I love that you found the cart at a thrift shop, and at the same time it saddens me at how disposable things become so easily. Good for you for loving it back to life :-)
