Painting the fabric on an Antique Rocker

I was this far into painting this antique rocker before realizing I didn't have a before picture. You have probably seen and heard that you can paint fabric with Chalk Paint™ decorative paint by Annie Sloan.
The fabric was in great condition, I just didn't like the colour.
The first coat covered beautifully.
Two coats of Old White over the fabric and the wood, finished with two coats of clear wax. Super easy.
Here she is, all done.
The fabric now feels like soft leather and will age beautifully and stand up to daily use.

  1. Wow I never would have thought to paint the fabric... great idea! Thanks for sharing your beautiful chair.

  2. Nice to see the finished chair. Looks great. I have a chenille fabric chair that I painted with Chalk Paint™ worked wonderfully.

  3. Beautiful! Did you wax the fabric too? Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks Ladies! Adrienne, I did wax the fabric, two coats. Feels like soft leather! :)

  4. This is a fantastic redo! I never considered painting or waxing fabric. What kind of wax did you use?

  5. What?! Who knew you could paint fabric? Your chair looks great! I am a new follower and look forward to keeping up with your projects.
